New Flooring for 2019 – It doesn’t have to cost a fortune!
Sometimes you just don’t have the money to spend on new timber floors and installation. If this applies to you, then take a look at the wonderful range of Gerflor Senso and other brands vinyl flooring at Bunnings. Lightweight and self-adhesive, they are ideal for small areas in need of refresh where you don’t want to spend a lot of money but want a modern look. The prices do range from $40 to $80 a pack (about 10-16 planks of various lengths in each pack) but you should watch out for specials.

They are very easy to lay and cheap to purchase. If you are considering changing your floor covers, these tiles/timber look floors are a breeze to change in one day. They are made from vinyl so don’t be expecting perfect timber floors but what’s good about them, apart from the price, is the fact that they are scratch-proof and water resistant and look like timber, so can be placed anywhere in your house except right in the shower recess. Be aware that although they are water resistant, that doesn’t mean water can’t get in between the planks and under them so don’t lay them in a bathroom where they will have constant water on them, such as from an open shower – you will need tiles in this type of bathroom.
I have successfully laid this flooring in bathrooms and kitchens and they look good and long-lasting and don’t show scuff marks like normal floorboards.
Here is the kitchen before with old lino which we removed and the adhesive stripped away. If you have a smooth floor finish, you can lay straight on top.

These Nordic style self-adhesive planks are my favourite at the moment. They would look really good in a bedroom or living area. Great with light coloured timber furniture, black and white furnishings and a shag-style rug would compliment.
