I know I always talk about white, white, and more white….but sometimes you’ve gotta put aside the neutrals and add a little colour into your life! Dulux,Taubman and Pantone and Sherwin-Williams have all released their 2019 ‘colours of the year’ and they are all different. The new year will be here before you know it. Think about how you could add these hues into your home to reflect a modern ambience.
Dulux – ‘Spiced Honey’
Taubman – ‘Night Watch’
Pantone – ‘Living Coral’
Sherwin-Williams – ‘Cavern Clay’
What these colours have in common is that they are all bright warm earthy colours from jungle green to warm amber, to peachy orange shades and terracotta. Inspired by nature; they are joyful, relaxed and unpretentious. Great for bringing the outdoors in! As we move deeper into Summer here in Australia, we can look to paint rooms or add colour that reflect the great deserts, rainforests, coral reefs and the sun streaming over the rocky hillsides; colour that will refresh and inspire our senses. If you don’t want to repaint, then you can use these colours by adding plants, terracotta or coral coloured cushions, paintings, or other furnishing in the earthy hues. Spiced Honey – “can be soothing or calming, cosy or vibrant, depending on the palette you pair it with”
Night Watch – “encompassing the tones of a dense tropical jungle”
Living Coral – “with a golden undertone that energizes and enlivens with a softer edge”
Cavern Clay “Forged by sun. Fired by desert. Ancient, yet fully alive. Bohemian, yet totally refined.”
Some of the colours are US brands but any good paint shop will have the details on how to create the colour using Australian brands. See below for more inspiring articles about these colours
