Dulux has just released a new blog on it’s interior colour trends for 2019. This one is entitled ‘Wholeself – Stop, breathe and simply be in the moment.’ I like that concept for spring and summer coming up. A time to reflect and look at values and what you want to achieve next.
The timing may not be right for you to repaint at this moment but you can always plan ahead and keep these colours in mind. My next blog will look at updating your bedroom style with a new spring look – quilt covers, cushions, rugs etc. A lot easier than painting the whole room, just focusing on the new colour trends for next year.

What colours do you recommend for a bedroom for a sick child. I need to repaint and refurbish before my boy (8) comes home from hospital? I want it to be a peaceful place for him but dont want it to be bland.
Hi Danni, I”m not an expert in this field but you would want to think about calming yet uplifting colours and furnishings for a child that age. I like greens, yellows and blues for boys – keep away from bright reds and orange which can be too energising. There is an excellent blog below from Resene Paints -colours for children which might give you some ideas. Also think about a subtle but fun light to keep him amused if he’s likely to be bedridden for a while as well as a Night Sky projected on ceiling and a good selection of fun books and puzzles he can do in bed. Good luck. 🙂
